Govers Sidewall Shingling specializes in residential cedar shingle siding including complete restorations, additions, remodels and repairs. The company was founded in 1993 by Oliver Govers, a Berkeley, California native who has been in the trade since the late 1980’s. He currently resides in Oakland, Ca. Over the last ten years, the company’s focus has evolved more and more toward cedar shingle siding, which is equally attributable to our passion about this craft and customer demand.
Since 1996 100% of all work has been generated from referrals and repeat business. This is a result of a high level of customer service and quality, and is no coincidence as customer satisfaction is very important to us. Both homeowners and general contractors receive the same level of service and quality.
Initial contact with a client involves telephone or email correspondence during which an on-site meeting is arranged to discuss the scope of the project and to obtain all information needed to provide pricing for a particular job. Upon receipt of a proposal, the client is encouraged to call or email with any questions or concerns. If a client would like to proceed with a project, we’ll request a written commitment which enables us to schedule the project, at which time we can offer a tentative time frame in which the project will be started.
All of our energy is focused on one project at a time. When a project is started, it receives our full attention through completion. We’re courteous, we pride ourselves on our work, we respect our clients and we clean our jobsites every day. The majority of the work is done by Oliver Govers, with occasional help on larger, or time-sensitive projects enlisted from long-time associates who are able to bring their talents to a project when needed.
